What is Multi-Plant Scheduling?

Multi-Plant Scheduling consists of planning operations to make a product that has operations at one facility and operations at another to make the final product. The product can transfer between two or more plants where it is a finished product at one plant and a raw material at another, or the operations can occur at different plants at the same time depending on the product being produced.

PlanetTogether is capable of planning and optimizing the schedule across multiple plants, and allows the planners to see the schedule of operations at each plant. Whether the products being produced at one plant is a raw material for the next plant or the operations occur at multiple plants and come together at one final location to make a final product PlanetTogether can do both.

In PlanetTogether, a plant is one facility or location that consists of departments and resources. Each plant may have many departments and each department will have it’s own resources. In PlanetTogether, you are not limited to only viewing the departments and resources at one plant. PlanetTogether allows you to see each plant and each plants departments and resources. This allows collaboration between plants when operations or materials span between them.
